After having no luck trying to find a centralized location to locate places to play some poker, I decided to build this site. The goal is to create a community driven website for people to find, discuss, and rate local poker locations.
The focus is on texas hold em tournaments in the Twin Cities (Minneapolis/St.Paul, Minnesota and suburbs) area. The majority of locations you will find here host their tournaments for free, with cash payout to the winners. Generally, the listings will be at bars or likewise that serve drinks. What's a good texas hold em tournament without some social drinking?
Website has been launched! After months of development and a lot of tweaking, I feel the website is ready to be launched. While there are barely any locations now, I plan on manually submitting a lot to get started shortly.
I expect there will be bugs, and hope to get suggestions. If any bugs are found, or you have a suggestion/concern of any kind, please contact us.
Construction page has been posted. Development is under way on the site. At this point most of the coding has been complete. Misc bugs and features are still being worked on. Most of the work left is design. All the data on the right (recent, popular) is just test data.
I expect within the next month or so the page will be launched. As long as nothing comes up.
I couldn't find a decent place to play poker tonight. After doing some quick web searches, I realized that there wasn't anywhere to search listings where you can go sit down, play poker and have a few drinks in the Twin Cities.
With the spare time and boredom that followed this search, I came up with an idea. Why not build one? A community driven site focused on texas hold em.
Now that I had some time, a quick search found an available domain and a design that would work great for the site. I now had an idea, and somewhere to go with it.
What follows is the outcome of said evening.
